We were extremely disappointed in this apartment-it certainly was not a "Luxury Apartment"

The location was excellent....the main reason for us choosing this apartment in the first place. There was safe parking and the heating system was good.

− Overall the apartment was grubby (stained carpets, dirty dishes and dirty cutlery in the kitchen cupboards, stained tea towel) There was a huge tear on the back of the front door, with the fabric hanging off. Stairs up to the apartment were very steep. In the bathroom, there was no shelving at all, (or any other flat surface) so nowhere to put toilet bags, except on the floor! In the shower, there was no soap dish or anywhere to put shampoo etc, except on the floor of the shower. In both bedrooms, although there were bedside lamps, there were no power points nearby for one of the lights-we had to buy extension cords & plug in to a power point across the room-not very safe to be walking over in case of tripping on it. The bedsheets were extremely thin. There were no printed instructions anywhere explaining about internet, where to put garbage, how to separate it etc & other helpful information. I had to contact the owners for answers.

Needs an upgrade.

The beds were clean and comfortable enough. Good location if you don't mind traffic noise.

− This apartment maybe looked as advertised a few years ago, but not anymore, unfortunately. The decor was very tired. Starting at the front door. The handle on the inside was hanging off and there was a large tear in some sort of lining on one of the doors. I wish I had taken a photo. Up quite a steep staircase to a glass door that had seen better days. It really wasn't a good first impression. Inside the apartment was very cramped there were only 2 of us and a baby and we managed, but the apartment is advertised as sleeping six. I think that would be a real struggle. Sofa bed in the living area. Glad we didn't need to use it as there was very little space. Large tv that sits on the wall, at an angle, in the corner of the room with a chair underneath. Maybe a child could sit on it without banging their head on the tv! There is also a table and 2 bench seats in here and a wood burner?? The bedrooms are to the front of the property that sits on the main road through town, so if you're an early bedder, book somewhere else as there was a lot of traffic noise. You can't open the door very wide into the twin bedroom as it knocks against one of the beds. There's a chest of drawers in here but nowhere to hang clothes There's a bedside lamp but nowhere to plug it in?? There is hanging space in the double bedroom but, again, a bedside lamp with no plug socket! Beds were clean and comfortable. Bathroom was fine. Toiletries were cheap but I always bring my own so it didn't bother me. Lacking a towel rail. Kitchen is tiny. Only room for one person at a time. One small (dirty) pot and a couple of frying pans. 2 mugs (for 6 people?) which needed a good clean. There were dirty marks on the cupboard doors and a mismatch of crockery. It really needs a deep clean and a restock.

Decor comfortable beds convenient

Avoid Strath Apartment if expecting a comfortable, safe & clean experience.

Location

− The entry door is a graffiti'd storm door which takes you up a smelly vennel staircase. The flats main door is just an internal door with a latch lock - building not secure. The carpets are all stained and the first thing you see is an electric box which has not been boxed in. The toilet/shower room was dirty, with hairs in shower and sink and what looked like phlegm on the wall. Shower tray unclean, grouting dirty. There were no hooks or places to hang towels and no surfaces for toiletries. The lounge carpet was stained, the sofa and chair were stained and a dirty blanket on sofa. The twin bedroom door only opened less than half way as bed was directly behind it making access awkward and dangerous. The room was very basic. The main bedroom carpet was stained, there were two bedside lights one had nowhere to plug it into so just sat there? The second one required a non PAT tested extension lead which trailed at the narrow bedside in order to use the light. Inside wardrobe was dirty, what looked like grit. There was a hairdryer, unfortunately it could not be used as when plugged in it only worked intermittently as the socket was loose! The kitchen was ridiculous! Completely cramped, unusable work surface, no dishwasher and pots and cutlery were dirty. Bin sticky to touch and cooker dirty and greasy. We were due to stay two nights and self cater but decided it was not clean enough to do so. There were no wee extras, the bathroom hand soap was 1/3 full, sticky and the plunger did not work. There was a bottle of cheap washing liquid again about 1/3 full, a used scourer, a j-cloth and a tea towel. One night was more than enough for our adult children, we had no choice but to stay a second night as could not find alternative accomodation and property manager did not respond to our request for a refund. We will continue to pursue this. This is the worst booking.com property we have stayed in.
