Great central location in a superbly fitted out cottage.

Outstanding location. So easy to pop out for supplies or entertainment. Supermarkets are a few minutes walk away. Staying in Cockermouth works well for a Lake District holiday, especially if you have a car. The property has very well equipped and a pleasure to live in.

Home away from home.

Just back from a 3 night stay at Daffodil Cottage and it everything about it blew me away. From the street, the cottage looks warm and inviting and has that charming country feel that makes you excited to step through the door. On the inside, the property is cozy, well decorated and equipped with everything you could possibly need during your stay. The bed was super comfortable and the jet shower was amazing after a long day of walking! I usually stay in Keswick when visiting The Lake District but couldn’t find any availability for my last minute trip, so, being just a 20 minute drive away, the location of the cottage was perfect for me. Parking was relatively easy as I was out from 8am to 5pm each day, meaning I could use the parking disc that was provided between 5pm and 6pm until the on street restrictions were lifted. Noel & Julia were easy to reach and very responsive, answering the few questions I had within minutes of me sending them through. It’s clear a lot of thought has gone in to making this house feel like a home away from home and I would not hesitate to stay again 😊

Great location, very clean, plenty of kitchen equipment ( we never cooked but everything’s there if you need to ).Thought parking may be an issue after reading other reviews, but the hosts told us about a spot literally a minutes walk behind the cottage and we parked there all weekend coming and going with no problem getting space and it was free.We had a small issue when we arrived,we couldn’t find the towels but within minutes of me messaging the host, the lady was at the property to show us that they were in fact under the bed and the cleaner had forgot to put them out.Great communication right from booking the stay.

Nothing not to like really,it was perfect for our needs.

Central, cosy and clean

8.0

We had a lovely 3 night stay here. The location was very central and close to shops, restaurants and the river. Everything we needed was within a short walk. The hosts had left us a complementary bottle of prosecco which was a very nice and welcoming surprise. The standard of the kitchen was very good with all the basics and necessities covered, such as tea bags, washing up liquid etc. All the main kitchen appliances were very clean and in good working condition - like new. The bathroom was a good size and the shower was great. We felt very at home here.

Being able to see into the bathroom and toilet from the bedroom. The door had two frosted glass panels, but you could still clearly see if someone was sitting on the toilet. Lack of space for suitcases - whilst the space generally felt cosy rather than small, we did feel like we were constantly having to move our suitcases out the way.

The cottage was beautifully decorated. All kitchen appliances and cleaning products you could wish for. The milk in The fridge and the Prosecco was a nice touch. The towels were lovely and soft
