− We had quite an unpleasant experience during our recent stay. Prior to our check-in, the owner called to inform us that there was a water disruption issue at the actual homestay we had originally booked. He mentioned that he had a backup house prepared for us instead. While we appreciated the effort to provide an alternative, the first homestay we were assigned to was in a very poor condition. It was extremely dusty and filled with hair, as though it had not been cleaned or occupied for a long time. This made us feel very uncomfortable—as if we were intruding in someone else's unprepared space. It was truly disheartening. Eventually, we were moved to the original homestay that we had initially booked. While the condition was generally okay and matched the reviews, we still encountered a problem with the toilet flush. It didn’t function properly, as waste remained even after several attempts to flush. This was certainly unpleasant and negatively affected our stay. The owner informed us that, as a gesture of goodwill, he would offer us a complimentary one-night extension. However, due to the disappointing overall experience, we chose not to accept the offer and checked out earlier than planned. Following our feedback, we received a refund of RM100. Given the inconvenience and discomfort we experienced, we feel that this amount may not be sufficient. It’s especially confusing how the owner was willing to offer an extra night stay, but only compensated us with RM100. We sincerely hope that future guests will not have to go through a similar experience, and that better arrangements and quality control will be in place moving forward.
