Amazing and magical ryokan in the snow.

Our stay was simply amazing. The attention to detail from the staff was next level from the warm reception to our departure and they went out of their way to make it a memorable experience for us. We were provided breakfast and dinner - there was so much food, a true ryokan experience. It was truly magical and we are so glad we picked Koase as part of our trip to Japan.

− The location is a bit out of the way with frequent train cancellations during heavy snow so we were unsure if we would be able to get to our accommodation but it all worked out and they provide a free shuttle bus to pick us up and drop us off to the nearest station.

Das Personal war unheimlich nett. Wegen mechanischer Probleme an meinem Rad kam ich erst sehr spät an. In der Gegend gibt es keine Restaurants und ich hatte noch Hunger. Die Dame am Empfang bereitete für mich deshalb noch einige Onigiri vor. Am nächsten Tag half mir ein Angestellter nochmal unheimlich. Ich hatte große Probleme mit meiner Scheibenbremse, die Klammer, die die Belege zusammenhielt, hatte sich verbogen, kein Radladen im Umkreis von Dutzenden Kilometern. Ich war verzweifelt, wollte schon aufgeben. Erst fuhr mich der Herr zu einer Tankstelle, wo wir zumindest eine Zange bekamen. Als ich nicht weiterkam und fluchte, nahm er die Zange und bog mit Engelsgeduld die Klammer wieder zurecht. Nur wegen ihm konnte ich meine Fahrt bis nach Hokkaido fortsetzen. Großen Dank dafür!

The wonderful people working at Koase was our highlight! Tomoko, Koya, Sayaka and Miwako recieved us very well and they were all excited to have us over. They even took us for a tour to say hello to the mayor of Aga 😂 Also a special thank you to Tomoyuki for managing our bookings 🙏

− Nothing to dislike, but europeans might need more than one futon for their backs 😂

Amazing Ryokan with best food I ever had in a hotel! Wonderful personnel, amazing hispitality. Great onsen facilities. Has a besutiful traditional feel and located in a pristine, untouched nature. Private open air onsen has great views over the valley. So far, best hotel I have ever been in Japan. I highly recommend here to anyone wishing to experience such a great Ryokan. Thank you everyone for making my stay so wonderful.
