A nice week in Kalymnos

We stayed in this apartment for a week-long holiday in July. The owners welcomed us very kindly, providing a welcome gift of fruit and wine. Upon arrival, we admired the view from the terrace, which left us speechless. Having breakfast and evening drinks on that terrace was a wonderful experience. The room was cleaned twice during our stay. They provided everything we needed and even helped us out with extra requests (handling minor emergencies). It is in an excellent location for Platis Beach, though having a rental car made it easy for us to get just about anywhere. There are also a couple of beaches accessible on foot via steps, featuring very good restaurants. It is also a great starting point for runners. Highly recommended—great job!

Lovely apartment with amazing view, great for exploring the island

The apartment is really beautiful with a great view. Inside it has everything you need and there are lots of nice complimentary touches to welcome you. Having breakfast out on the balcony was a real pleasure. It is deceptively spacious and quiet. It has a new modern feel to it while still retaining a sense of being traditional. It is a good base to be able to explore the island from - you do really need a car - the car hire place in the village is good. Our favourite beach was Melitsachas but you need to be early to get a sunbed, followed by Masouri. Palionisos is great but quite a long drive. Platis Yialos beach is about a 12 minute walk. Our favourite restaurant in the village was Kafes & Alati, followed by Cardamom

− You need to be aware that to get to the restaurants on foot requires using a stepped path - quite a lot of steps - otherwise it is a lengthy walk on the road - and to get to the restaurants on the southern end requires walking on the beach right near the waves where it is difficult not to get wet feet. The beach that you can see from the apartment (Kantouni) is not great, no sunbeds, no beach bar and narrow - there are a number of much better ones for which you need a car. Directions to the apartment could be a lot better - google maps has Studio Saroukas which is just behind Kalimera. There is a parking bay at the apartment but it is quite small and a bit challenging to turn around. The apartment does not have a safe.

Highly recommended - we wish we were still there and will definitely return!

Our stay at Kalimera Apartment in Kalymnos was truly unforgettable — we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at ease. The apartment itself is beautiful, clean, and comfortable, but what really sets it apart is the incredible terrace. We spent so many mornings and evenings just relaxing there, soaking in the stunning views of the sea and enjoying the sun. Photos don't do it justice — you really have to be there to appreciate how beautiful it is. The location is ideal — just a couple minutes walk from a lovely beach and lots of excellent restaurants. The area has a relaxed, welcoming vibe, and we found the local people to be incredibly friendly and kind. We really recommend the area if you’re looking for an authentic Greek island. One of the biggest highlights of our stay was the hospitality. Emmanouela and her parents went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They are genuinely warm and thoughtful people who clearly care about their guests. From helpful local tips to just being there if we needed anything, they made our stay feel special without ever being intrusive.

− Honestly, our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer. It’s the kind of place you leave already thinking about when you can come back. If you’re looking for a quiet, beautiful spot with amazing views, great food nearby, and the kind of hospitality that makes you feel like family, Kalimera Apartment is the perfect choice.

We had a fantastic stay! Emmanoula was truly the best host we’ve ever had. She helped us in so many ways and took care of everything that could have been challenging for us. Emmanoula and her lovely family were always there whenever we needed help — their support made our holiday truly enjoyable and stress-free. The apartment had thoughtful treats and everything you might need for a comfortable stay. The view from the house is stunning, and just below is a beautiful sandy beach. The location is perfect. We’re so grateful for everything — thank you, Emmanoula, for an unforgettable stay!
