Relaxing retreat

9.0

We loved this property! Such a quiet, relaxing and reclusive space. It’s very well decorated and had every amenity we could have ever needed. We felt like we were at home. It was clean, comfy and really private. We will definitely look to stay again as a place to unwind from the world.

A few things we wish we’d known: it is all open plan with no doors on the bedrooms. Fine if you are a close family but did feel it lacked privacy a touch. Only door was to the bathroom. Also the access road down to the property is long and very bumpy probably suitable to bigger cars as our wee Audi took a few knocks.

Nothing.

Wonderful quiet cottage stay

The location and standard of the cottage are both wonderful. Hidden away but with everything you need for a relaxing few days.

Pretty much nothing!

Louise and I absolutely loved this quiet little cottage that is tucked away in the middle of a forest in the beautiful countryside of Jedburgh. Waking up to the wildlife (deer & rabbits) grazing in the garden every morning! What not to like?

The 1/2 mile off-road drive, through the woods and along a country track, is a little challenging, I would recommend either a 4X4 or a vehicle with decent ground clearance to tackle that job! The shower needs a little more water pressure and somewhere to hang the shower head as it's a wee bit awkward trying to shower and hold the shower head at the same time. Apart from that, it's a beautiful quiet cottage that I would recommend to anyone planning a quiet, relaxing few days away from the Hussle and Bussle of normal day to day life.
