Sandy Bay Caravan Park, Ashington, GB
In this location, with more care, this caravan could be a fantastic place to stay.
3.0The view from the front windows of the caravan has to be one of the best on the whole park and the location of the park itself proved to be a great 'jumping off point' for the places in the area that we wanted to visit during our stay.
− Outside the decking is unclean, the windows need washing and some of the patio furniture is rusty. The front door is also difficult to close and lock. Inside, the living room smells of something like 'old dog', whilst the bedroom smells of over-scented washing powder (so bad it set me off coughing). The blind over the patio doors in the living room is too short and broken (no cord or chain so you have to roll/wind it back up by hand), the curtain poles are rusty and the settee is stained in places. The kitchen floor is sticky, the fridge is dirty and cracked inside, the kitchen bin was filthy and broken. In the main bathroom the shower is stained brown, the towels are very old, the blind is broken and filthy and there is no hand soap. In the en-suite bathroom the radiator and bin are rusty and the light doesn't work. The main bed is so uncomfortable, with a very soft mattress, that it hurt my back and I slept on the sofa instead. The mattress is also too big for the base making it difficult to get around the bedroom. There are only 6 hangers supplied for the main wardrobe and why are there broken fridge drawers stored inside the wardrobe itself? What could be a lovely holiday home, in a great location, is let down by lack of care and attention. In the end we even left a day early as we were only sleeping about 4 to 5 hours a night due to the uncomfortable bed.
Would not return over priced for tired accommodation. With some broken fittings.
8.0The views lovely. the balcony for the dogs great help. Kitchen appliances and crockery very good. Very peaceful spot well kept grounds. Facilities on site very good. Beach very close for dog walking.
− The dog hairs on the cushions somebody had had a black dog on all the cushions Hoover in accommodation would be nice Bathroom towels very tired Wooden shelf very badly stained and very shabby piece of old chip board. Blind in lounge broken got it down and no string to open it had to have it down for rest of all our stay. Took 20 mins to roll up before we left. This put my husband in the most foul mood that I will have to put up with for rest of the day. Water from kitchen skink just goes on grass and as I was walking dogs round static home I got all wet feet and socks in mucky washing up water drainage needs looking at.
Beautiful Lodge, Amazing Views & Everything You Need
10.0Absolutely fantastic stay! We couldn't have asked for a better place to relax. From the moment we booked, everything was so easy, with clear and straightforward check-in instructions that made arriving completely hassle-free. The lodge itself was immaculate—spotlessly clean, beautifully presented, and obviously very well cared for. The kitchen had absolutely everything we needed and more, including an air fryer, which was a brilliant surprise and really handy during our stay. The real highlight was the breathtaking view over the estuary and out to sea. Sitting back and taking in the scenery was so peaceful, and waking up to those views each morning was simply incredible. Every detail had been thought of, making the lodge feel like a real home from home. We honestly couldn't fault a thing and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway. We will definitely be back. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!
Wonderful place to stay to explore the beautiful county
