Health hazard (heating and mold), cerainly not suitable for the winter time

There was a Parking place. There was a possibility to use 2 bikes (we didn't use them)

− Too be honest, I would give a devastating rating, but we take into account, that we might just not be the typ of people who like to stay in a house like that. And I also don't want to be the one who drags down the average rating. The experience might be different in the sommer. But here it goes: - Arrival: intens smell of mold. Owner says: new shower smells. The shower smells also, but totally different from the rest of the house. I doubted how healthy it was, including the heating system (see below). The owner offered us 150 Euro to cancel (payed 340Euro for 4 nights). It was late, we couldn't book something else so fast and we thought, we just give it a try... - Shower: very small. After 5 Min., the warm water is gone. We had to wait an hour for the boiler warmed up enough water before the next one could take a shower. - Toilet: barely enough room. - Heating: Pallet Stove Heating -> it started to smell and smoke. Instruction: special vacuumcleaner to clean out the ash -> the second we turn on the vaccoumcleaner, ashes came out: probably bad filter... It explains why it was dirty everywhere when we moved in: when we cleaned the tables, Kitchen etc., the cleaning cloths were black! (which was not much obviously visible otherwise; Cooking area, closet, floor were obviously dirty) - there was a reserve Oil-burning Heating machine. We did not trust that, because the exhaust would not go out of the house. After a google search: ventilation is very important. Like opening up the windows?? We stayed there mid februar. It was cold, very cold. One evening it was 4°C. In the night the house felt like a freezer. The bed covers were luckily very thick, but you cannot leave your hands out side the covers for long, because they would cramp up. It was very uncomfortable getting out of the shower. We couldn't stay there any longer and we moved somewhere else. The owner offered us 150euro return.

The location is lovely in the woods. The cabin is comfortable and peacefull.

− The bathroom is somewhat tired and is difficult to use as it is small. (We understand that this is to be renewed in March 2025)

Beautiful Location

The property is located in a forest, which is beautiful. It was so quiet, even though neighbours are close by. The chalet was extremely clean and comfortable and had every thing you would need for your stay. The outside decking and seating area was just perfect to enjoy the glorious weather, rest and relax. Our host was extremely helpful and kind. We will definitely return.

− A full size kettle would be useful!
