8.0This is a brand new hotel. The room was spacious and the kitchen in the room was well stocked with dishes, pans and small appliances. The biggest disappointment was the breakfast. We have stayed at several Residence Inns in the Midwest and East Coast and have always been impressed with the breakfast buffet. The Battle Creek location had very little variety and the food seemed as if some/many items were reheated from the previous day. Examples are COLD oatmeal and tough to cut, let alone eat, turkey sausage patties. On our final morning there were no bagels or even bread for toast available. The first few days of our stay there was no salt and pepper! How do you serve scrambled eggs with no condiments? We did not use the pool and could not do laundry on site as the dryers had not yet been installed. We were able to do laundry at the Hilton next door, but it was much less convenient. Hope they improve the breakfast buffet.
