Wonderful Cosy Cottage

9.0

Gorgeous village, lovely cottage, lots of cutlery and plates and cleaning supplies. The towels were exceptionally high quality, thick, soft, and smelled nice. Lovely big kitchen diner, extremely cosy living room and sun room, nice big tv. The bed in the master bedroom was comfortable and large. The hosts were very clear and helpful, the video sent to us pre-arrival was such a nice touch and very useful! The electric shower works very well.

The narrow parking at the rear is genuinely narrow, it was very difficult to get out so we decided to park in the front although it makes me worry parking on a pavement, a sign would be nice to say "Maple Cottage Parking" maybe in front of the property to ease the mind. The bathroom is nice but needs an extractor fan. If you open the window you'll be greeted by large spiders (my mum's scream was confirmation haha). There are some loose steps in the garden stairs which could be a falling hazard. There are flies in the house but not due to dirt, it can be a bit annoying but the owners are clearly aware and hqve measures around the house to reduce the annoyance. The internal door connecting the living room to the sun room sticks very badly and is very hard to open.

We really loved our time at Maple Cottage. The house is stunningly beautiful and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The village is lovely and peaceful and located perfectly between the Pennines and the Lakes. We spent one day hiking to High Cup Nick on the Pennine Way, and the other around Ullswater. Wayne and Matthew were very helpful (especially after our little hiccup - thank you again!) and we will definitely return.

Nothing. It was perfect.

Brilliant cottage. Very clean and tidy. Great garden proper sun trap. Location not far from the lakes and a supercharger if required. Definitely recommend.

No dice in the monopoly ha ha but we managed. Other than that it was great

Stunning property, would love to return one day

Stunning property, decorated beautifully and had some real wow factors. Wonderfully comfortable beds and lovely pillows/quilts. Great little touches upon arriving such as milk, coffee, biccies etc :) would love to come back one day. Great communication from owners

Smell of fuel quite strong in the kitchen when heating was on ….this may well be normal for the type of heating at the house :) Could be a tad chilly but understand it’s a lovely period property , and throws and open fire made it nice and cosy :)

Great location for what we wanted to visit, spacious cottage. Nice garden for our dog to roam around. Good beds and linen. Utilities plenty in the kitchen to make breakfasts and cook. Would recommend this cottage for short and long stay.

Shower could use some improvement on water pressure, but it is perfectly usable and plenty hot water provided (we visited several cottages where hot water was gone after 5 minutes).

This was a great stay for us with our dog. Host was great, really simple instructions, lovely house with everything we needed. Location was great for a quiet week away.

Nothing of note.
