Localização. Custo-benefício.

− Quarto quente, não havia possibilidade de abrir janela e não encontrei controle para ar-condicionado central. A janela era grande, o que iluminava bem o quarto, mas só tinha cortina blackout, não havendo uma cortina que permitisse privacidade e iluminação natural ao mesmo tempo. Mandei várias mensagens via plataforma do Booking, mas não recebi qualquer resposta.

Property is well located and the room is decent. The guy who works at nights is very kind and helpful. I complained about not having a window and I was given a fan so I appreciate that.

− My room didn’t have a window which I do not appreciate. I had requested a month in advance that I wanted a room with a window but they only replied on the day of check in that they could not promise a room with a window. So communication is not great. Also the room could have been cleaner. There was mold in the shower head and hair in the shower from the person that was previously there. When I arrived at 7:30 pm, I had to wait one hour for them to finish cleaning and make a key for me so that was not great either. I have seen the building in person now and now I realize a lot of rooms don’t have windows. So if you are person that needs a window, don’t come here. Otherwise, it’s alright as long as it doesn’t get too hot outside.

Not fit for purpose (i.e., NOT a hotel. Great for students I assume) though in a great location.

Someone met me at the reception to take me to the room and fixed my door battery on the spot.

− The cleanliness of the room was terrible. The previous guest's envelope with her full name and dates she stayed in Newcastle was in the drawer when I arrived. The shower was blocked with hair that was not mine (I did not wash it). When this was flagged to the staff, we were offered a plunger as the maintenance person had gone home. In order to shower, I ended up having to pull the hair out of the drain myself, which was HORRIBLE. The kitchen was dirty when we arrived, with limited cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils. There was no tea towel so no way of handling hot dishes out the oven without burning my hand. The rooms overheated massively. When I flagged this to the building, they assured me I received a new towel, a fan, and that the kitchen would be cleaned. Whilst I appreciate the swift response and the efforts by staff to stay in contact, all of this seemed to go to someone else on my floor as opposed to my room. When I got a fan, that was actioned with one night left. I couldn't ever fully relax at Market House as everything felt like it was unclean and had not been attended to properly due to quick turn over of guests.

− Nowhere on the booking.com website did it state that this was student accommodation. A maintenance man greeted me a there was nobody available over the weekend. The kitchen was filthy with overflowing bins and nowhere did it say I could use any of the cups or glasses as there were other students in the building. Immediately on having a shower the shower filled up with dirty water - filled with clogged hair. The room was extremely hot with no ventilation. Very uncomfortable.
