We Should Have Slept In the Car
1.0It was available during the World Cup. We were not going to Houston for FIFA. This was a cancer surgery. Closest we could get to Houston was Baytown.
− This will be, at the very least, a story I can tell my family. Turns out the "motel" is not actually affiliated with booking.com. This low slung string of connected fallout shelters looked a lot like the Bates Motel, and it wouldn't be absurd to believe that someone might have been offed in the shower at all. Place was mostly unoccupied, and the two others who stayed there were nice. If you DO want to do some knife-work in the shower, do it here: we had to pay in cash, and they gave us a written receipt from one of those carbon-copy receipt books. They did take my driver's license, but they weren't really looking at me. Seriously, if you are planning something illegal, go to this place. Dirty towels, sheets, the aforementioned bathroom/ abbattoir: everything was dirty. Bugs in the bathroom. TV was an 18-incher with no remote. I'd rather stay in the Overlook Hotel for an entire winter then ever look at this motel's SIGN ever again.
