10.0A quaint property - very lovely. Nice that they have a bar and dining onsite. Smells amazing around there. Room was pretty. Meals were very good. A nice stop in our trip.

Meikleour Arms cottage stay.
10.0Stayed in one of the cottages for 3 nights. There is parking outside your front door. It was lovely. Had all the amenities and were stayed in for evening meals after the first night at the restaurant. Had a washer dryer and full kitchen. Bedroom was roomy with lots of wardrobe space. Bathroom was big with over the bath shower which was powerfully. Would have benefited from a grab rail. The hotel itself is a short walk on a tarmac path that is mostly unlit around fields until you get to the road. But you could drive if that doesn't appeal. The area is very peaceful and behind the 4 cottages is a path through the woods down to the river. Breakfast in the hotel has a small continental selection and a choice of hot food. Staff are friendly.

8.0Staff were friendly and efficient and the room was clean and pleasant, although could perhaps have a bit of refurbishment. The new dining room is attractive and well designed.

10.0Meikleour Arms is a unique inn on a large estate (hence "Arms," which refers to the coat of arms of the estate owner. Cozy inn, delicious meals (venison from the estate, for instance), lots of personality. We loved staying here, and fishing with Ian, the "ghillie" who put me onto a beautiful sea trout and taught me how to cast a spey rod.
