Awful Check-in, sometimes rude staff, but nice, clean rooms and good location

The location of this hotel is great - right next to Qianmen Street and DaShiLan Street. It's between the Forbidden City/ Tiananmen Square and Temple of Heaven. There are many great restaurants within a 2-5 minute walk. There is a metro stop about 10 minute walk from the hotel. The beds were clean and comfortable, the room was spacious, towels and bedding were clean. The decoration of the hotel is cute, traditional Beijing hutong style.

− The check-in process was terrible. While I speak Chinese, the staff insisted on using a translator that wasn't translating correctly - Do not expect staff to speak English. The staff at check-in was rather apathetic and at times rude. They will make you open your luggage in the lobby to check it/scan it for prohibited items. This is not usual in China and/or Beijing and is a hotel policy that felt invasive. As a traveler, I don't like staff looking through my bags and seeing underwear or where valuables may be. Additionally, we were a party of three in a triple room, but they refused to give us additional room cards- which was inconvenient as our group split at times and then had to coordinate or ask the staff to open doors. Desk staff was defensive when asked about these unusual policies and gave rude responses. While the stay overall was good, the check-in and unusual policies were off-putting.

Loved it and would come back

Ideal location - close to, but far enough to not be bothered by noise and crowds. Loved the fluffy cat wandering inside the hotel Nice and welcoming staff Room was cleaned daily. Be informed that your luggage will have to be checked for any drones - this is not the hotel's initiative, but a legal requirement to anybody staying within a certain radius of government buildings. The check is very quick as they only pass a detector over your open bag - they do not conduct a thorough search going through your personal items and content.

− Only consideration would be that the outside window blind could be dusted off some what - making sure we can open it without getting dust going off it and entering the room. Minor detail.

Posizione e pulizia al top, letto comodissimo

− Camera un po' piccola, probabilmente nella media per Pechino.. se si dovesse rimanere per una settimana punterei su qualcosa di più spazioso
