A hidden gem of peace and tranquility in the Douro Valley
10.0Marvellous small hotel with only a dozen rooms, but in a beautiful riverside setting. Rooms are basically furnished but very clean and well sized with great air-conditioning. Bedsheets are changed daily. . .a lovely surprise. Fabulous breakfast with plenty of variety,(try the scrambled eggs!), friendly and accommodating staff. Plenty of loungers around the pool and nothing could be too much trouble for the attentive staff. No evening meals, but an equally fabulous restaurant and bar (Calca Curta) 100m away with another just across the railway tracks 200m.
