Beautiful property and very friendly owners. The room and common areas were spacious and private. The grounds are well kept, and the house is about to undergo maintenance which should polish it up - not that it needs much. Breakfast was sensational - big serves and really high quality. The owner was very friendly offering site seeing advice when asked, and helping me make a doctors appointment when I got ill (nothing to do with them). Beautiful, I'll go back for sure.

Last Night of Holiday should always be fantastic

This was the last night of our 2 week tour of New Zealand's South Island. Stoneleigh Lodge is perfection. Located outside of Christchurch but not to much of a drive back into the city, the rural area is very peaceful and the alpacas are great animals to live amongst, beautiful to look at and seldom make any noise. You do not get a room here, you get a suite. Huge bedroom plus huge lounge area. Walk through robe to a very plush bathroom which for our case had a double spa tub plus a shower area with a great view. The house was immaculate. Liz was the perfect hostess with great local knowledge and a fantastic breakfast. If I had any improvement to suggest it would be to make the window to the shower a door to the private patio so in summer you could walk into the shower directly from sunbathing ( how picky can one get hey!) Paula and I agree this is probably the most luxurious accommodation we have had in our many trips overseas.

Good choice, wife very impressed. Place has a wow factor and Liz makes you feel very comfortable too.

Peacefull and Private, Luxurious Retreat.

I had searched for a special place, for my wife and I to spend a night in celebrating our 30th anniversary. This place had to be of 5 star quality, away from the city/suburban area (but not too far), and not sharing our time in a large hotel with other patrons. Was much more than I expected, and both my wife and I Loved our experience at the Stoneleigh Lodge. We both highly recommend this place, to anyone who is considering getting away and want a special place with that special person.
