10.0Nearness to the seafront, and town, both within walking distance. Hosts very pleasant and helpful
− The bins near the driveway entrance made parking a little difficult and they were very smelly.
A plesant peaceful stay for us.
9.0A very nice host, a good breakfast was available which we decided to have at a reasonable price. The guest house was close to the beach say 500 metres and shops and places to eat were nearby.
− the shower room could have been bigger, the rooms were cleaned every day and the host was very polite and helpful.

A convenient lodging for SW Coast Path walkers
8.0I used the Amberlea as my base for the final 2 days of my SW Coast Path odyssey, partly because I booked late and there wasn't much choice anywhere along that stretch of coast. But I'm pleased that I did. Swanage is a smashing place, and the Amberlea was a very conveniently placed B&B. The ground floor room was fine, nothing fancy but clean and well appointed with a very welcome electric fan to keep things a little cooler at night. I didn't take breakfast as I was keen to get early starts. And my hosts were very helpful in looking after my big bag after I'd checked out until I could pick it up later in the day. Also nice and convenient for the bus station, just 5 mins away.

Definitely a good place to stay
8.0Very easy to find and convenient for the own, bus and train stations. Parking was free and straightforward. Room 4 was clean, tidy and quaint with a clean, well stocked bathroom. The high tech fan was useful: our room was facing the road so there was some noise but, in high temperatures, we couldn't shut the otherwise effective double glazing. Our host was friendly and helpful.
