A mediocre hotel
4.0Overall, the hotel compares poorly to others I have stayed in. Air conditioning was poor in the daytime and my complaints elicited no response. I tried to contact the manager, Manjunath, but his secretary would not put me through. On my third attempt, she said Manjunath will come to my room. He never did. The food was generally bad and local specialities were conspicuously missing. Room service was generally timely, but some of the items I asked for( like chicken cutlets and fish and chips) were not available. Overall I got the impression that the hotel was intent on saving money rather than giving good service, which is completely the wrong strategy in the hospitality industry.

Problem ridden.
2.0− The bathrooms had many problems - clogged sink, leaking shower area, worn out towels. It was as though nobody checked the room before giving it to us. The ground floor smelled of urine in the morning. The reception seemed lethargic. They refused a second key. When I complained about my stay during checkout, the person at the desk simply stayed quiet and told me that I had been checked out. I have regularly stayed at this hotel for the last few years. This is probably the last time I visit County retreat.
