8.0Fabulous old hotel inside the old city walls. Renovated, but showing some wear. Location, staff and breakfast were excellent. Note that some websites claim that this hotel offers parking or a sauna; both are false. Nearest parking is 1km away and 2€ per hour. We stayed in a deluxe suite on the top floor and loved it. Highly recommended, but pricey.

8.0I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Villa Duomo. The staff was lovely and very helpful. I stayed in the attic room which was one of the most unique rooms I have ever stayed in. The room is literally the attic and the bed is lofted above the main floor area. The place was very clean and centrally located. Housekeeping did a good job each day. It was a little odd not having the tv near the bed but it forced me to adopt proper bedtime habits because once you went upstairs to the bed it wasn’t natural to keep going back down. I also note that the shower doesn’t get truly hot- it’s lukewarm at best which was ok given the weather but it stood out in comparison to other hotels I stayed in during my trip. The hotel is right in the middle of everything so it was very easy to get to tour pick up spots and to walk around old town. The only caveat I have is to listen to the reviews. They are all absolutely correct when they say it is loud. I needed noise cancelling headphones to sleep and even with them in it was not easy the first two nights. I ended up staying up late one night (not by choice) and taking a nap midday to make up for lack of sleep. The noise mainly comes from music playing in the various squares. It’s not bad music but if you need quiet, this is not the hotel for you. Everything else about the hotel - price point, free breakfast, location is great. The people running the hotel are lovely.

8.0Villa Duomo is a beautiful building right in the middle of the old town so a fantastic location to visit everything in Kotor. Lovely breakfast on the terrace. Be aware though that there is an open air bar next door which plays loud music until 1am (there are double glazed windows on the rooms which helps to minimise the noise though) and parking is outside of the old town which can be very busy at times so plan to arrive after 5pm to find a space more easily. We loved staying right in the centre of the old town.
