Lovely food and accomodation
10.0Great stay and Food..........................................................................................
Brilliant food, service & staff
10.0Lovely nights stay, brilliant local friendly pub with good parking. Clean, cosy room with good sized bathroom and comfy bed. Tasty food with a good choice (it was a Sunday). Leah was so attentive, nothing was too much trouble, serving both the evening meal and breakfast. Dog friendly was a bonus!
The Manor St Bees January 26.
6.0Disappointing overnight stay. Images on the website lead you to expect better and are obviously old, the furniture is tired, especially seats, carpets have seen better days. Some areas of the bar and dinning area have blown plaster and are ready for a redecoration. My room had been painted recently, and I could smell fresh paint. It had new curtains (still creased from packaging). The bed was comfortable although a little cold. It was a sqeeze getting into the shower. The bathroom had a tile missing and the floor needed bits of repair. At £85 for a Sunday night in January for 2 it wasn't the most expensive but not the best value I've had for my money. Food hygiene 4. I always choose 5, however I wasn't told that food would not be available and had to take a trip to Whitehaven for a takeaway. Beer was nice although the advert stated a selection of cask ales, there was only one. The bar shut at before 11pm. The breakfast was good. I would be hesitant to use this chain for accommodation again. Overall I would rate it as acceptable as the bedroom was clean.
A pleasant stay
8.0For the most part a good stay. The room was large enough and fairly fresh. Plenty warm enough in the cold winter nights. Tea and coffee facilities. Good wifi, Excellent cooked breakfast. Free parking and convenient for the local attractions. Ensuite bathroom. Good shower pressure and hot water. I found it quiet for sleeping, although there will be some noise from the inn below during opening hours. Pillows were a bit flat for my liking. The only negative thing was lack of stock and choices in drinks and food, but these were limited to it being the New Year and awaiting delivery. Probably won't affect normal periods. We ate here twice as well, and the food was great, plentiful and piping hot. Service was good all the time.
