Traditional stay on the riverside
9.0The location of this property is ideal, only a 20minute walk into the centre of Killarney, or a 20minute walk into the National Forest. With parking available at the rear of the building. This is real Irish hospitality; you can tell the owner really takes her role seriously in being the hostess with an old-school style. If you want a feeling of what it would be like to visit your Irish Grandma and stay in her comfy house next to a picturesque bridge and riverside. Stunning really! I see other reviews saying it's dated, but do we need to lose all decor heritage for the sake of newness? Perhaps this guesthouse is just fine the way it is; it's clean and cared for. The breakfast in the morning is a delight, offering eggs any way on toast or a full Irish and unlimited Juice, water, and Coffee. It's not often you come across guest houses with owners who remember your name and where you're from the next day and genuinely have interest in your travels. This is a gem that should be celebrated, a sacred antique.
− Needed a hairdryer in the room, the reading lights were far too bright and needed a lamp shade. Otherwise, a perfectly great stay! Don't let the dated/old reviews put you off and embrace going to a more traditional guesthouse.
