I would not recommend!

The gardener was keep looking and looking to my daughters bedroom window while watering plants. He was watering those plant for long time and just looking inside. My daughters are 11 and 13 and that was so unprofessional, impropriate and horrible experience in this hotel. Even when I came to balcony hopefully he will move away, he was just creepy smiling and looking. Horrible!

Enjoyable stay at Royal Palms Beach Hotel

We spent six nights at this delightful Royal Palms Beach Hotel in Kalutara after our exciting, adventurous group tour of Sri Lanka ended on 2nd July. Received a warmest welcome from staff with refreshing cold drink, ideal after a long travel. Check in was very swift and luggage did not take long to arrive in room. Our room was near reception and dining hall that was just ideal for us Room was on first floor, quite large and spacious with balcony overlooking the deep end of outdoor large swimming pool and partial view of sea. Our sincere thanks to Sathyaseelan Ajesh in the back office for providing us a convenient room near reception, dining hall and most importantly mosquito net over bed as we had been bitten by those dreaded insects during our travel. Ajesh, is a courteous, well spoken young man dedicated to his profession. It was a pleasure meeting him. The bar has both snooker table and pool table at cost for one hour. Enjoyed playing pool with Lahiru/animation team. The gym was well equipped and often used by most staying guests. The exterior of hotel is vast with plenty of palm trees looking absolutely divine. Deck chairs plentiful. Unfortunately, the beach was severely damaged in 2004 tsunami and never to be restored because of financial constraint. Our housemaid certainly had a vivid imagination of creating animal sculpture with hand towels every day keeping us entertained and amused. The food with so much variety, varied daily with live station, all sumptuous together with the desserts. All the staff throughout the hotel were warm, courteous at all times that makes the Royal Palms Beach such an enjoyable place to relax and stay, that we (group) thoroughly enjoyed. The railway station is 10 to 15 minutes casual walk from hotel to Colombo City as we did for a day outing and It takes around 80 to 90 minutes along the coastal route and the cost was so cheap 100LKR one way.

Royal Palms Beach Hotel is a fantastic beachfront location which offers a relaxing atmosphere for a coastal getaway along with massive pool area curving around its main building. The rooms were comfortable, and the gardens and pool area were pleasant to spend time in. The staff were friendly and accommodating throughout our stay and gave us great advice on where to go to enjoy the city. The food was good being served in a buffet style with a wide variety of options from Sri Lankan to international styles of food. While some aspects of the hotel could benefit from updating, we still had an enjoyable experience overall. It offers good value for travellers looking to unwind by the beach.

We had a perfect vacation in your Hotel. The atmosphere is very calm and the serive of the staff and the food is really good. Ms Madusha has been very helpful. Looking forward to see you all. Thank you

The rooms are large and well equipped. Very comfortable beds. The staff throughout the hotel were perfect in every way. It's just a shame that the beach has gone and the nearest one is full of refuge.
