8.0Its quite a unique place and very quiet and refreshing. Its an old property but looked after. The rose garden is stunning and a lovey old orchard to walk around in the grounds as well. The few people I met were lovely and very helpful and friendly.

8.0Stay in a working monastery! The buildings and extensive grounds are superb. The grounds and gardens are well tended, and make for an extremely pleasant stroll. The place oozes character and makes a memorable visit. All this on the outskirts of Huddersfield. The rooms are basic but clean. Breakfast is only "continental", offering cereals, muesli, yoghurt, plenty of fresh bread for toast and lots of strong filter coffee. The staff are friendly and welcoming.
First time staying at a monastery
8.0Good, solid place. It really is a monastery with large grounds and impressive buildings. Welcome was very friendly and helpful. The property is dated, but in fairly good order. Bed was good. Breakfast was cereal and toast type. I was hoping for full breakfast but was not offered. Mirfield also a nice town/village, just avoid school closing time as very busy

10.0The monastery has beautiful gardens to explore in any weather. The accommodation itself is spartan and authentic to the purpose, but is still good material value for money. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again for the gardens alone, but the unique experience is also an attraction.

8.0I liked the privacy and quietness of the place which I was really looking forward to. The improvement I would recommend is the addition of an air fryer and or a microwave oven to allow those who want hot meals like me to warm my own food or cook half cooked foods from shops like Marks and Spencer.
