7.0This was an interesting Victorian house.
− We would have liked access to ice. We didn’t realize it wouldn’t be available. My husband booked the trip and he wasn’t aware our room would be on the third floor…..necessitating carrying our luggage up three flights. It’s possible he overlooked that but it would keep us from returning.
Beautifully appointed Victorian rooms, and excellent central location.
10.0We appreciated the beautifully appointed room and public spaces, the well-stocked bathroom that included a refrigerator and microwave, the balcony with table and chairs, and the very central location with a view of the harbor.
Small but charming and affordable Victorian Boutique Hotel
7.0It’s an old Victorian house in the center of town that has been nicely updated with some new retro appliances (a cute microwave and small refrigerator located in the bathroom with a Kurig and dishes, utensils, etc), as well as original and modern conveniences that work with the charm of this historic setting, and the price was more affordable than the chain hotels nearby: Holiday, Hampton, Motel 6. Everything was clean and worked fine to include the code system that was provided on the last day to enable entry to the outer and inner door; which I was unsure about until the day of arrival. We were fortunate to arrive on a Sunday just in time to enjoy the beautiful weather and Sunday Market which takes place just around the corner with lots of artists and food vendors. The street parking was available outside. There was AC and a small heater in the room and plugs near the bed to charge phones, etc. The bed was comfortable and the old style bathtub with legs and curtained shower worked well and fit the style. The windows and small balcony outside the room were nice, even though it was not fancy. It’s a very “homey” place. I would go there again.
− I fell ill a couple days before the trip commenced and was denied my request for a free cancelation. The owner quickly responded to tell me they could not do a refund, but did not respond to my follow on request to reschedule for a specific future date in the future. I felt well enough to make the trip and reconfirmed that we would come on the day prior and asked for clarification about the instructions to get in, but didn’t get a response. There is no staff present for check in and this was our first time to stay there, so I was left in suspense on that until the day of arrival when I got an email with the codes. Booking.com has a method for cancellation or rebooking that was left at the discretion of the owner, but it was unclear if the reservation would be fully canceled if not approved, so I opted to email the owner directly. Communication could’ve been better, but I could have also called, rather than email. If you book this place, it’s fine, but just don’t cancel. It’s a small capacity boutique hotel and denying a two-days out cancelation is understandable.

10.0Attention to details
− The outlet for the heater was loose from the wall. Needs to be screwed into the mount.
