Heading in the right direction
6.0Check in was easy and fast, and Marie was very friendly. We appreciated her great customer service. When we got to our room it was clean and tidy and it was obvious some nice upgrades have been made, such as the new tile floors. The showers also had excellent water pressure. However, there are some areas for improvement. The mattress was uncomfortable and we woke the next day with sore backs. There were no encasements on the mattress or pillows. In the bathroom there were soaps but no shampoo or conditioner and no extra toilet paper in case we ran out. (We ran to Target to get some since the office was locked.) Our biggest complaint, however, was that the air conditioner needs fixed or replaced as it ran intermittently and never cooled the room, something that was imperative given the near 100 degree temperature. We kept waking in the night drenched in sweat and throwing cool water on ourselves so we didn’t overheat. The Sundial Lodge has promise. It is affordable and clean with a friendly staff and tidy rooms. But tweaks definitely need to be made before we will stay here again.

8.0I stopped at the Sundial Lodge as it was ~ half way on my trip from OR to CA. Proprietor was very friendly, room was clean and comfortable. What I really liked was the location, after driving all day I wanted to stretch my legs. Sundial Bridge is a nice walk and there are a collection of restaurants within a half mile. I'll be stopping here again.
