The hospitality from the host, David, was exceptional. Our suite was perfect - very comfortable and well equipped, with a fantastic view. It was very private but David was on hand for a chat and for great advice as to activities and planning. We loved using the hot tub in the evening, looking at the stars. We cannot recommend this place highly enough - it is very special because of the personal service. David even provided a spade for our trip to the Hot Water beach!

Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality. Even with the extremely bad weather and the power outage, we felt safe, comfortable, and truly at home with you. The delicious food and your kindness and generosity made our stay extra special. We are very grateful for everything — especially for letting us stay one more night, as we were unable to leave Whitianga due to the cyclone and road closures — and we will remember this time with a big smile.

Service galore in a beautiful property

The property is up on the hill with a stunning view and a beautiful manicured garden overlooking Mercury Bay. There are 2 apartments on the property which are completely separate from each other. The owner, David Hall, prides himself on excellent service and we wholeheartedly can confirm this. The apartment is lovingly furnished, more like an upscale property and even china and glasses are made from crystal glass/ bone china, a great difference from most properties including luxury hotels. There is nothing missing from what you might need during your stay: packed beach bags with beach towels, nail clippers, sewing kit, sanitary pads, upscale local soap, shampoo, body wash, first aid kit etc. and a magnification mirror for those of us who can’t see well. The breakfast is served at a lovingly set table, English china. David bakes his own bread everyday and makes delicious scrambled which stand out. His granola fruit cup is wonderful as well. Last but not least, David is very knowledgeable about New Zealand and is the best source for any info you might need, independent whether it is about restaurants, shopping or the best way to get somewhere. He is never tired to help.

Paradise exists!!

Staying in this B&B from David is an opportunity you should not miss on. It is paradise, not only because of the spectacular view, but also because of the hot tub and the excellent hospitality! It is a short drive to restaurants and beautiful beaches. Also highlights like Cathedral Cove and Hot water Beach are a 30 minutes drive away. We were invited to a local neighbour party which made our stay even more special. It is an example how welcome we felt! We would love to go back once!
