An entirely different property to the photos

− At over £700 for two nights, this was supposed to be a special birthday stay at one of the higher-end properties in the area. What I actually got was something else entirely. Shortly before arrival I was told the property location was being "updated." On arrival I was taken to a completely different property — one that looked nothing like the photos on the listing. What was different: Tiny pool instead of the main pool area shown in the photos No bar or comparable facilities Heavily shaded throughout, none of the atmosphere advertised Room looked nothing like the listing photos Hot water didn't work properly On top of that, I was incorrectly charged a second time for the full amount on arrival, after being told my original payment hadn't gone through. It took until the following day — and proof of payment — to get the duplicate charge refunded. Stressful and unnecessary. When I raised concerns I was told the original property was under construction and no alternatives were available. The only resolution offered was a discount on a future stay, which I obviously won't be using. I did not receive the accommodation I paid for. If the listing photos don't match the property, that's misleading advertising. Save your money and book elsewhere.

C'est un très bel hôtel avec beaucoup de charme et de caractère, et une hauteur sous plafond impressionnante. Jolie et agréable cour intérieure avec des transats très confortables. Le lit était grand et très confortable. Grande salle de bains joliment decorée, comprenant une douche à l'italienne et une belle baignoire. Le personnel était gentil. Les repas étaient bons.

− Le prix et les soucis de communication en anglais. Le service est lent. Et la piscine extérieure est petite pour plusieurs chambres. Heureusement, nous étions les seuls à en profiter. La réception TV n'était pas de très bonne qualité.

The staff were very nice at the hotel and tried their best to help us feel comfortable

− Where to start. We were supposed to stay 3 nights and left after 3 hours. The first room we received was completely different to any in the photos, we were shocked at the quality considering the very high price. It was completely exposed, uninsulated to the point that every conversation in the building was loudly audible. We asked to be moved to another room, same issue, but add in an ancient, rattling air conditioning system. We moved again into another room with paper thin walls and doors. I can’t emphasise enough how loud it is, and honestly, it doesn’t feel safe. I get that it’s an old building and maybe if you’re looking for an experience, fine, but we hated it and felt extremely uncomfortable. They ignored my request to alter my reservation down to one night via booking.com on the day, which would have meant paying for one night instead of three. They subsequently told me to dispute this with booking.com and just refused that request too instead of being willing to have a conversation. I am now forced into opening a dispute with American Express as they refuse to accept my offer of paying for one night’s stay (even though I didn’t end up staying for any!) as should have been originally agreed to for my cancelling on the day. A terrible experience overall. Combination of a staggeringly high price point with aged, poor facilities and a terrible customer service operation. Avoid
