Best hotel so far in Thailand
10.0Wonderful hotel on increadibly beautiful and peaceful beach, pleasent room and pools with seaview, but most of all we enjoyed our stay thanks to the hospitality of the hotel staff - a big thanks to mr. Kyaw at the reception for outstanding service. Best hotel so far in Thailand.
Odd place, something just not quite right here.
4.0This is for the Beach resort and castaway villas. Location, scenery both idyllic but there’s just something not quite right about this place. The beach itself is okay but the amount of rubbish that kept appearing was staggering, not directly their fault, it’s coming from the sea, but when there’s a half-ar*ed attempt to clean it up by the staff from a self proclaimed high end resort you start getting the impression the staff don’t really care much. I watched as two hotel workers picked various bits of plastic trash up, one was a whole plastic container, look at it, then put it back. What’s all that about? It’s rubbish get rid of it. This has clearly been repeated up and down the beach and to me, just serves the purpose of ‘we’re reading comments on Tripadvisor about beach rubbish and will make it look like we’re doing something about it’. Not good enough in my opinion, do better. Mixed feelings on staff, some overly happy, for example bell boys, they know they’re in for a possible tip - understandable I guess, versus breakfast staff who were miserable as hell, no happy Thai sawadeekaa for you it’s too early!! Housekeeping- miserable. Evening restaurant wait staff seemed okay, reception on arrival okay not enthused to see you. Reception staff on two occasions, all males and really not in the mood to help. Is there a pay and moral problem in this hotel? No one really seems happy. Speaking of the evening meal, mixed views on this, we were half-board as there is literally nothing around this place, evening set meal was a separate menu, husband had chicken cordon bleu and potatoes all of which were so over fried less than half was eaten and left. Through the night and into the morning he had a bad upset stomach and diarrhoea. The other meal was massaman curry with mango sticky rice which was delicious. Rooms are okay. We opted for a beachfront castaway villa which is what we got, barely. We were put right at the end of the row of villas which are basically in the rocks, so no sandy beach for you there, just a sh*t ton of washed up hard coral and stones. Only good bit of this was it close to so some nice snorkelling areas (btw snorkelling gear you can’t pick up till gone 10am however from beach bar at 200bht for 10-5pm rental and it’s easier to get a mortgage with the amount of paperwork involved, perhaps the hotel should just leave a pair in every room?) so just be wary when booking, the pics on the website are of heaven walking out from your villa directly onto sand but if you’re at the end of the beach it’s not really that. Villas could do with some modernisation, mini bar was empty, not sure what policy is there, you’re in the middle of no where so thought you’d make a killing on those items? To echo a previous review the TV channels are terrible and with the hotel taking last orders at bars and restaurants then essentially shutting down between 9:30-10pm you’d maybe like a little something to watch and nod off to that’s not Samsung free TV and those constant repeats of hotel inspector, AGT & Gordon Ramsey I mean come on. Mini bar is empty, actual bar is closed so TV and bed it is I guess! You need to do better here please Haad Tien. Or at least allow people to stream or connect their own content to the TVs. Overall just a bit ‘meh’ to be honest. Expected more and have left a bit underwhelmed I’m glad we only stayed 2 nights, any longer I would have moved on earlier for sure. It could be a lot better as a resort. Oh and please add a fitness room/gym.
Disappointing stay despite great views
4.0The pool area and restaurant have a beautiful view and are very clean, which was the highlight of our stay. The beach itself is also very nice. Unfortunately, everything else was extremely disappointing. The location is very isolated. The hotel is far away from everything, and there are no shops, restaurants, or stores nearby at all. You must have a car or rely on taxis to get anywhere, which is inconvenient and adds extra cost. The breakfast was awful, with very limited and poor-quality options. Our room was terrible: it was dirty, there were insects, and the doors did not close properly, which made us feel uncomfortable and unsafe. We asked the reception for a different room, even offering to pay extra, but the staff did not seem to care and offered no alternative or solution. Because of this, we decided to leave the hotel two days before the end of our reservation. Despite the poor conditions and early departure, no refund was offered. Overall, while the beach and views are beautiful, the room quality, service, breakfast, and remote location made this a very disappointing stay. I would not recommend this hotel unless major improvements are made.
Our visit was more than expected
8.0The stuff were amazing.very attentive and kind. specially this guy zay. Rooms were clean and had a very nice balcony and shower with rally hot water and pressure. the room itslef was big enough for a couple.the only thing missing was bedside lamps. There were a few issues with noise and a bit of suege smell due to their water system.but ot was only for 20 minuts and then it was fixed as soon as asked.their pool is amazing, the breakfast was very good with lots variety of foods. Their restaurant was incredible, with one of the bests foods we had in Thailand. Everything is a bit pricy for thailand but worth it. The closest town is about 6 minuts down hill with a motorbike and they also had shuttle service daily. The only thing that bothered us was the beach that was really dirty with garbage from the sea,but it seems a problem in koh tao in general, but the hotel could do more to clean it and put enough garbage bins around the property. Deffently recomend this place.
