Great potential but needs stricter cleaning/bug control
4.0Gorgeous view, loved the pool (cleaned daily) Good bedding (except decorative pillows that smelled like they'd never been cleaned). The staff were kind Gym very nice to have but needs fans. Restaurant (à la carte) is very good (and pricey)
− Disgusting amount of small cockroaches inside my room, everyday. Housekeeper sprayed my room once but was't enough to deal with infestation. Not OK for the price. I was expecting to at least have a gesture (1 meal offerred or something but management didn't seem to care too much about the bugs - I do get we are in nature but still you can't find a cockroach in your tea cup in a 4 star hotel). My door was accidently left open a whole day by a cleaner. Breakfast can be improved : there was moist on my bread on first and only try; sometimes beans were cold; the cakes are industrial and really bad. Also couldn't help thinking of potential insects in the kitchen. Wifi so-so

6.0The view from the balcony, the clean pool, the constant electricity and water supply. The food at the restaurant is very good (Dinner, Lunch, not necessarily breakfast)
− The breakfast buffet was not very good, the sheets, pots etc. were not clean, the decoration fell down when I tried to serve myself, it was quite empty when you arrive past 8:30am. I think in general, maintenance could do a better job, given the price of the hotel. Rooms were ok, but the bins weren't emptied, there was a tray with old food and forks in the floor forgotten on the floor..
Expensive for what it is but not a bad option for Freetown
4.0Overall this place was ok and if it had been cheaper I'd have rated it higher. The power was quite consistent and the AC worked well. Some of the staff were very helpful. I was ill with food poisoning while there (not from country lodge, I had eaten nothing there by that stage) and staff did their best to help out. The pool was nice but trying to get a towel proved a mission
− The gym is well equipped but there's no AC so it's very hard to work out there. The breakfast is probably the worst thing honestly with many dishes (including baked beans) left out cold and frequently running out. The room was quite rough around the edges and not spotless.
