Beautiful location right on the sea. Staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We will be back again next year

Decent quality hotel; value for the money paid.

Relatively smart hotel with lots of tiled areas. Long solid pier creating a very safe swimming area for children to play in although there is a lot of sharp coral to negotiate. The food was varied with something for everyone. 2 fresh soups each meal time, lots of salad goods, a pizza bar, pasta bar, roasted chicken, grilled fish, quails, squid, variety of sweets and lots of friendly staff to serve you drinks; there are even freshly cooked chips to satisfy those unwilling to try Egyptian foods. The beach area is managed by Mr Atef who keeps it clean and litter free as is possible; this is a thankless task due to unthinking people. Occasionally the staff put on select evenings with better quality foods, beach side tables, local wines and music to enhance the experience. Possibly one thing that the hotel needs to consider is how to improve the animation group, although they did have large numbers engaging in dance routines and volleyball. Overall the hotel is well worth a visit and I for one will revisit.

Everything was good. The animation on the beach includes stretching, yoga, Zumba etc. Delicious meals and beautiful views from the beach. Thank you!

We came to royal star as a group of friends hoping for a relaxing girly holiday. It was far from relaxing. The room was filthy and outdated, balcony full of bird poo, one of our group had to go to reception as her bedsheets were filthy. Staff were rude and miserable and didn’t seem to like the English, especially bar and restaurant staff. Drinks were awful and in tiny cups. Food was hitty missy but the restaurant was filthy, the coffee machine looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. There was never enough cutlery or plates so always had to hunt them down and also the glasses were always dirty. Around the pool area is dangerous, I fell down a ramp and injured my arm and hip. Another lady fell down the same ramp earlier that day (be careful). Air con is rubbish, room far too hot, one night we had no electricity so a handy man had to come up to the room late at night to fix it. We were all really poorly with upset stomachs most of the holiday. The beach is gorgeous I’d recommend a sea view room. Wrist bands cut off at checkout but they gave us a lunch voucher however we couldn’t get anymore drinks after 3pm. We couldn’t go to local shops unless we were in a group because we were hassled. Probably the worst hotel I’ve stayed in abroad.

Great place. Great atmosphere. Staff ate very friendly. The entertainment team are there to help with anything and are great fun. There’s something for every1 all day long.
