Tree Hotel needs to up its game
6.0This hotel is obviously unique – rooms are small tree houses designed by well-known architects. I have been wanting to go there for years but couldn’t realize plans until now. My friend and I booked 6 months in advance and then came Covid and we had the entire place to ourselves. Some handle the pandemic smart, others abdicate and Tree Hotel seems to belong to the latter category. Before arrival we were told that the restaurant was closed but no alternatives were provided (we brought camping stove and Bollinger). Breakfast was handed to us at check-in in a bag but was insufficient and like a cheap airplane breakfast). We stayed in the Mirror Cube and it was great. But everything was covered in a layer of dust, windows were green with algae and one mirror underneath the cube was missing. Being the only guests we looked at all the other tree houses and most need freshening up – a loose plank here and there, paint fainting. I usually only write reviews when I am satisfied (…) but coming here was disappointing and considering the price tag Tree Hotel needs to do better. Much better.
