10.0We loved relaxing on the deck and watching the hummingbirds. We also enjoyed wandering around the property. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We even liked the friendly dogs.

9.0The resort is beautiful and is located near Cristo Rey. To go to San Ignacio you need a taxi. If you’re looking for a quiet stay in a lovely natural setting, this is the perfect place. We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and spotted many birds during our meals. The family made us feel very welcome. The meals were excellent, and they organized tours (some family members are also tour guides) and were always happy to help with any questions we had. We took the ATM Cave Tour (with an external guide) and visited the Caracol ruins (with Luz as our guide). Both tours were very well organized and highly enjoyable. For the ATM tour, the family even provided me with suitable shoes because I didn’t have water shoes. I should mention that we stayed during the low season and were the only guests at the resort. Even so, we would definitely come back and highly recommend staying here.
Perfect stay in San Ignacio
9.0We had a great stay in Crystal Paradise Resort. The rooms are great and confortable (bed a bit hard or too soft). The area around the hotel is beautiful. Close to Cristo Rey (Carm’s restaurant is great for breakfast, Monkey falls are refreshing). There is no pool but you can walk down to the river for a swim. We booked the canoe for 1 day and it was amazing (but yes it’s expensive! But everything is in this country), they drive you up the road towards San Antonio with the canoe and you just paddle down the river. You can stop at Botanical Garden, and Chaa Creek for lunch, really worth it.
− Area around the river could be better, but since it is a shared area I don’t think the hotel can do anything about it. Meals are expensive but the hotel is very accommodating if you have an activity early in the morning! We were doing the ATM caves at 6:45 and they provided us with breakfast at 6 AM.

Worth the drive
9.0The staff was super helpful and so gracious. They were lovely, felt like family. The grounds were lush and the birds were incredible. I'm not a bird watcher but I was completely taken by the different birds there.
− This isn't even a negative, meaning it's far from Belize City but honestly it has to be in order to give you a feeling of being totally away.
