9.0I have stayed at the Golden Gate many times over the years. It's a simple, comfortable hotel in a convenient city-centre location. The staff are always helpful and friendly. They do a tremendous job maintaining standards during difficult wartime conditions. This time, I decided to take a room in the basement, due to the higher intensity this year of drone and missile attacks. In truth, the basement rooms are not as comfortable as upstairs, which is reflected in the lower price. They are rather dark and dingy. But for safety reasons, it was probably a good idea.
