Our first trip to Bathurst by train from Central and back for 2 days.
6.0The accommodation was chosen for being near the railway, as we were travelling on foot for 2 days in Bathurst. We could walk to the shopping centre and for walks around town. The bed was fine for sleep, the bed room was warm. Hot water was good but you could not adjust shower head to get water over the body. Breakfast room was set up to serve yourself with cereals,milk, yoghurt,fruit for cereal, breads,butter,jam. Tea bags, instant coffee. Then we washed our dishes and cutlery, per the request to do so.
− The accommodation had trades people staying, seems more like set up for this. The breakfast room carpet was soiled, maybe from tradies boots.Not everyone cleaned up after themselves, so I washed the dishes and cutlery for them, no issue for me. I like clean properties. Our room was meant be quiet room, banging from people closing their doors in evening and early morning very noticeable. Traffic noise to. I guess street was like a main road lot of vehicles passing by. The property we felt was not for holiday makers. All said with the utmost respect. This was our first train trip to a country town. We thought we would like visit cosy country towns by train instead driving. We will not return to Bathurst, it was not a place where many spoke to travellers. Of cause this is only our opinion. The history of the old buildings was special. We were grateful for everything in Bathurst and our accommodation. Thank you.
