Stunning underrated house reef!!
10.0The house reef is massively underrated! I felt compelled to review this resort because ratings are a little unjustified. Firstly - don’t expect a 5-star Middle Eastern resort to be equivalent to a European one. That’s just dumb and for the price point - I’d say this was spot on. I’ve been to many 5-star listed resorts - each continent varies in terms of what the region classes as ‘5-star’. If you want true 5-star then expect to pay triple elsewhere like at Rixos or 4 seasons.. For the price - this was perfect and the Red Sea snorkelling, cheap activity and travel costs in comparison are worth it. Sharm provides the cheapest snorkelling / diving costs for better reefs than some Caribbean / Maldives resorts I’ve dived in . We’ve just returned from 8 days at this resort. From the moment we arrived, we were upgraded to a superior room – a great start. The rooms are large and spotlessly clean, from the floors to the bathroom fittings – absolutely gleaming! On our first day, we left a small tip and a thank you note for the cleaner, and came back to free drinks, a fruit plate, and spa slippers – such a lovely touch ❤️ The food is varied and, for an all-inclusive, some of the best in both variety and taste. They have daily BBQ corners with delicious chicken and beef kebabs. The standout feature of this resort is the incredible reef. I’m a diving addict, and I’d honestly say the house reef jetty rivals diving in Ras Mohammed and Tiran (which I also did). The best footage and photos I took were from this reef, and the snorkelling is better than the Maldives and Mexico combined! What a dream it is to wake up and snorkel every day. It’s truly stunning, and I don’t think it gets nearly enough recognition in reviews. The service is top-notch. I tipped the beach barman, and he would bring drinks over to my area ready for when I came back from snorkelling – that is service. All the staff are so friendly and accommodating, and they highly recommend the kunafa for dessert – I was obsessed! It’s an absolutely delicious local dessert. A smile and a thank you go a long way here, and you really are treated like royalty. There are quite a few Russian guests who don’t seem to have the best manners, so being from the UK definitely feels like a plus. The resort is constantly cleaned, and it feels quiet, safe, and very well maintained.

Not 5-star – misleading, poor quality and unacceptable charges - “Nightmares Beach Resort”
2.0We stayed at Dreams Beach Resort Sharm El Sheikh and unfortunately this was one of the worst “5-star” experiences we’ve had, despite travelling frequently and staying in many resorts. This hotel is absolutely not 5-star by any international standard. At best it is a tired 3-star property being marketed as something much higher. The overall quality is very poor. The rooms are dated and lack the finish you would expect, and the entire resort feels run down rather than premium. The “all inclusive” offering is extremely restrictive, with unnecessary rules, limited access to food and drinks, and a general feeling that everything is controlled rather than enjoyable. Food was a major issue. The buffet is repetitive and of low quality, and the so-called à la carte restaurants are disappointing and not worth the hype. We experienced stomach upset during our stay, which only added to the frustration. Avoid the grill al la carte unless you enjoy eating with last weeks mouldy food scraps under your table. Service is inconsistent and far from what you would expect at a 5-star resort. There is a clear reliance on tipping to receive basic service, and overall the experience lacks professionalism. I didn’t see any of the staff smile once in almost a week staying. The most unacceptable part of our stay happened at the end. We were refused departure to the airport unless we paid $45 for towel cards that we were never properly issued. Our 4-year-old neurodiverse son had returned the towels on the final day, and instead of handling this reasonably, the hotel insisted on payment and effectively held up our transfer by “detaining” us at the hotel - a convenient final cash grab to finish. This felt like a complete scam and left a very negative final impression of the hotel. Overall, this resort is misleadingly advertised, poor value for money, and not suitable for anyone expecting a genuine 5-star experience. I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere.
