Generally a good visit for all the reasons stated.

Location. Good music. Good food. Friendly staff. Very comfortable bed. Good amenities in the room. Great welcome and efficient admin. Room was ready when we arrived ( earlier than expected) Excellent breakfast. Easy checkout.

Decor was dark and paintwork was chipped. Room on the small side so ok for one night. Bathroom had a damp smell.

NOT GOOD FOR GLUTEN FREE IT SEEMS

4.0

Have literally just left. Firstly, a maze of corridors told to wait by reception. So we waited a couple of minutes. Told we could sit in the garden up the stairs. Said I was Coeliac/Gluten Free, said a menu would be brought up for me. So proceeded to garden, very steep staps, and some of the tiles are loose below railings. Sat down and waited. Then I saw a sign saying, "Please scan bar code and order." So, I thought I would go on and try to order, but low and behold, if you have an allergy, you have to speak to someone. Tried a few times to get the attention of the young girl up there. But failed. So it was either get louder or leaving. After a long tourist day, we decided to leave. So I won't be going back there, at least not for food.

It was OK

6.0

It was very clean and staff were very friendly. Very central position

I did not like walking up 56 stairs to get to my attic bedroom. The room was very small and very little storage space. A very small hanging space taken up with Ironing board iron and fan. Bed side lamps not bright enough to read with. There was drink making stuff but had to ask for more coffee.

Wonderful stay in an historic hotel full of character and very helpful staff.

Excellent location within easy walking distance from the station.. Lovely furnishings too in the bedroom and spacious shower.

No air con but fan was provided. Very steep steps up to the bedroom ( attic room).
