− Sketchy Parking Lot Predators & Straight-Up Theft at Alpine Motor inn Okay, I’m not usually the type to write a novel-length review, but the Alpine Inn destroyed my trip, my wallet, and what little faith I had left in humanity. This place doesn’t just have “issues” — it’s a full-on integrity black hole that should come with hazard tape and a priest. I booked two nights on Booking.com like a normal person who just wanted a decent bed. Check-in was a circus. Front desk guy rejected my virtual credit card, my debit/credit card (the same ones I’ve used at actual hotels recently), and then claimed they “don’t take cash for Booking.com reservations.” Meanwhile, I’m standing there watching him happily take cash from a walk-in guest. The hypocrisy was Olympic-level. So I slept in my car that night. Where random cars were literally circling guests like sharks smelling fresh prey. Super relaxing. Real “welcome to our establishment " While im at the desk pleading with the manager like a desperate reality TV contestant. While I’m begging them to just take a normal form of payment for the deposit so I don’t lose hundreds of dollars, another guest storms up demanding a refund because there was actual blood splatter on the wall in Room 21. Blood. On the wall. In 2026. I can’t make this up. They eventually let me check in (after magically accepting a card they previously refused). No extension for the night I already paid for, of course. “Rules.” Then we get to our room and it’s a crime scene in its own right: stained sheets that looked like they hadn’t seen a washer since the Clinton administration, paint splattered everywhere like a drunk decorator had a breakdown, a ceiling water stain the size of a small country, one lonely light bulb, and a shower with moldy caulk so thick and gross it probably has its own zip code. The shower head barely worked — more of a sad dribble than an actual shower. The staff was rude and dismissive the entire time.

It was surprisingly modern and comfortable. It was the best mattress I've slept on in some time!

− The bedframes have a few sharp corners in the room that could put your shins at risk if navigating in darkness or not paying attention.
