So loud, poor design layout

− This hotel basically sits on a freeway. Are you here is the roar of the cars. Also, the design of the bathroom is such that you cannot sit on the toilet and have the shower door closed. Also, there’s no headboard just two pillows propped up against the wall that fall on your head while you’re sleeping. There is also no dresser or closet. This is way overpriced for what it is.

Short walking distance to everything we wanted to do in the Funk Zone and at the beach. No freeway noise or train noise in the rooms we booked. Friendly staff.

We had planned on spending one night here but due to some challenges we had with a car we had just purchased in LA and were planning to drive back to NorCal, we ended up spending two additional nights. The staff was warm and welcoming (special shout out to Julie). They went above and beyond to help ease the stress of our recent purchase woes. (Drink chips helped for sure!) Any request I had they made happen with a smile and without hesitation. The hotel is small but set up well with the front desk doubling as a bar. There is ample space to work, games to play and a kitchen set up for communal use off the lobby. They also have a wheel you spin when you check in where you can win points, drinks, free parking, credit for snacks and more. They also give you a couple of tokens for drinks too. Very cute touch! We stayed on the ground floor, poolside. Though we didn't actually use the pool or outside games set up it was a fun, colorful set up. I'd recommend staying where we did as it was actually pretty quiet save the few times the train went by. You cannot beat the location. It's in the heart of the Funk Zone and all its wineries and restaurants, minutes from the beach, and an easy, short walk to downtown and all the happenings on State Street. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat

I enjoyed the location and how everything was within walking distance. The staff was amazing, and the bartender made the best drinks I had that day. The room was perfect and the type of room i look for when i am looking to book a room. Best part was check out being at noon.

Well Located (Highly Walkable) and Great Customer Service

I've been meaning to write a positive review for this location since we stayed there in early July 2025. The front staff was great and engaged, the location was incredibly well located if you want to mostly walk around downtown during your trip, and while the rooms are small, everything is well designed - plus there's a pool! Additionally, we had a minor sound issue and the staff went above and beyond to address the issue. I was really pleased with our stay and would definitely return.
