Parfait Starter

This is the 4th time that I’ve ordered the duck liver parfait starter, and the restaurant still insists on serving it on a thick wedge of very lightly toasted brioche bread. Parfait needs to be served on thinly sliced toast that allows the parfait to be easily spread. I kindly asked the waiter to cut the bread in thinner slices and to have it further toasted. It came back almost the same and sure enough, when I tried to smear the parfait onto the bread, it became one mushy mess because the bread was essentially too soft. Customers don’t want to eat a thick wedge of brioche that fills them up and ruins their appetite for a main course and dessert. Something more appropriate would have been thinly sliced sourdough toasted bread, which I have experienced in other restaurants. Hopefully the chef will consider changing the dish in future, since the parfait is smooth and tasty. Just let down by the inappropriate type of bread accompaniment. I would expect better from an expensive restaurant.

Fab evening drinks

Just popped in for late night drinks beautiful evening in march dry still a chill but in the juice and gin bar there was outside heaters and music for everyone’s taste Really enjoyed the vib mix of ages ( shame about the smoking being allowed!) So we kept moving to avoid them which was fun to people watch. Next time in Cheltenham I think I will stay over here heard the restaurant is amazing xxxx

Horrible Experience - ZERO Customer Service

We were very excited to stay at this establishment and while en route from London to the hotel, we got a phone call that my travel partners father had a stroke back in the U.S. We immediately contacted the front desk to communicate the situation and told them why we would not be able to use our room. We also followed up with an email. We called once we got back to London to again communicate the situation and they stated that they had not received the email, so we asked if we needed to send another one and they said no. We were also informed that the manager, named Sarah, would be in on Monday and could review the situation. We were expecting to receive some sort of grace, given the situation, and what we received was zero compassion. They stated that they did not receive the email of which we had a digital copy of showing a date and timestamp. After several conversations, and being repeatedly interrupted, Sarah cited that they had to ‘abide by the terms and conditions’ leaving zero consideration for the human condition and circumstances beyond one’s control. I would’ve expected more grace and better customer service from a facility like this. We will never patronize this establishment, and we will also make sure that anyone we know traveling to this area is aware of the heartless disposition of the establishment. Bottom line is we were charged for a room we did not use, and the circumstances did not matter in the least.

We attended a wedding here and it was absolutely fantastic. The rooms in the house were beautiful, clean and spacious. The wonderful ambience of this house really provided the most perfect winter wedding. Warm, cosy and beautifully decorated with lots of candles and defusers. The staff were wonderful, attentive and so friendly. The banquet feast was absolutely delicious with the best beef wellington we've ever tasted. A massive big thank you to Georgie. You and your team really delivered and gave the Bride and Groom and all a the guest a very special day to treasure.
