Summer stay
6.0My wife and I stayed 4 nights in the Vermilion room. The location is excellent, the house is beautiful and spotless, the hosts are kind, and the breakfast is delicious — BUT the room was extremely hot. When we brought this up with the woman in charge, assuming the heating had been left on by mistake, she explained that wasn't the case at all — the room was just naturally hot in summer, and we could use the tower fan and open the window (during peak mosquito season, no less), since there's no A/C. Unfortunately, this made it impossible to properly rest during our vacation, and with no alternative room offered and no other availability anywhere else at that time of year, we were stuck with it. Bottom line: think twice before booking this stay if you're paying over $2,000 for a place that markets itself as top-tier service but simply isn't equipped for summer comfort.

− Would have preferred air conditioning in our room but they did have a fan which was nice, and we did know this ahead of time.

− It was never disclosed that the rooms did not have air-conditioning. It was a very warm time outside and therefore our room was uncomfortable both evenings. We did use the portable fan left in the room. But we thought that it should have been advertised as having no air conditioning.
