I've stayed here multiple times and will return again.

The Williamsburg Lodge is within walking distance of the historic Colonial Williamsburg buildings. The shower was nice.

The ceiling light in the bathroom did not work. Also the Roman curtain in the room was held up by two frayed cords. There was no secondary curtain; sheer or otherwise. When I tried to put the Roman curtain down for privacy, the frayed cord broke. The second day a cleaning person put the curtain back up. Thereafter I did not attempt to lower it. For $300/night I expected more.

Historic visit to celebrate America 250

10.0

You can't have a more convenient place to stay if you are visiting Colonial Williamsburg. Everything is within walking distance, including shopping, dining and the historic campus of William & Mary. The room was very large and offered plenty of space for storage of luggage and other travel items. Parking was a little challenging and one of the elevators in our building was down but everything else was great. Will definitely stay here again if we return to Williamsburg.

Not an Autograph Collection Property

2.0

I'm Bonvoy Gold Elite. I always book their Luxury or Premium brands. This place doesn't come close to Autograph Collection for either service or facilities. At check-in I my family and I felt as if we were both (a) an afterthought and (b) and annoyance. The most perfunctory "welcome" I've ever received at any Marriott property. Doorman decided who he wanted to hold the door for and who he didn't. The property is beyond dated. Needs a complete overhaul. By virtue of its design most spaces are dark. I completely understand that maintaining the "colonial" feel is important to the facility. However, they could take lessons from their sister property The Williamsburg Inn across the road. Room was clean but dated. Had no cell phone coverage in our room. Front desk was rude (almost shouted "No!" to another guest who asked could he get a bottle of water from the front desk and who was directed in no uncertain terms to go and buy one in the store) and barely competent (we needed to check out a day early - the front desk staff had zero idea how to process the request and at one stage said to my face that they would charge me a fee to do so). At the bar one of the staff was complaining to a patron about the conference attendees ("they are so rude") (this after she didn't clean/wipe down the bar from the previous guest when we sat down for drinks.) (That said, the other woman working the bar that night was fantastic. )

Perhaps lower quality than the past, but the location remains optimal when visiting the area.

7.0

The location, adjacent to Colonial Williamsburg, is the main selling point for staying at the Lodge.

Customers shouldn't have to ask to have your room cleaned. The shower toiletries (shampoo, conditioner) were watered down. In the past, these specialized products were so enjoyable (scent) that I purchased them from the gift shop whenever I visit. In general, it feels like some corners are being cut.
