Delightful boutique hotel close to local attractions

My family and I stayed here for two nights prior to starting our safari, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. Despite arriving on property at midnight, we were warmly greeted by staff with a signature drink. They kept the kitchen open for us, cooked us dinner and brought it to everyone’s room. Meals change daily and reflect local flavors - there were always vegetarian options available. We chose the “half board” option which included breakfast and dinner daily. Rooms were beautifully appointed and comfortable. Plenty of water and snacks were available daily in our room. We were celebrating a big birthday and anniversary on this trip, and the staff graciously decorated our bed with celebratory messaging and brought out a celebratory cake our night at dinner. The grounds are beautiful and lush. We enjoyed sitting outside in the evening with a glass of wine. The pool is lovely, although we did not have the opportunity to use it during this visit. The hotel has close proximity to both the Giraffe Center and Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. Wilson airport and NBO are both within 20-30 minutes.

We had a lovely 3 night stay in the charming and secluded cottage of this idyllic property. We arrived late at night after 30 hours of travel and were warmly greeted with a delicious welcome beverage and a dinner of our choosing despite the late hour of our arrival. What made House of Waine so remarkable was the level of service they provided 24 hours a day. When we needed an early breakfast to accommodate our 6am departure flight, they made sure the kitchen was open for us to have a delicious full breakfast. Everyone here worked hard to make sure we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The cottage we stayed in right off the pool was spacious and beautifully appointed. It had 2 fireplaces, one in the living room area and one in the bedroom. The cottage’s kitchen was well stocked with cold beverages, tea, coffee, and snacks. We really enjoyed the lovely outdoor private sitting area, where we sat and enjoyed the beautiful landscaping and the sounds of nature. The House of Waine is located in the beautiful Karen district of Nairobi, close to the Giraffe Center, the Nairobi National Park, and the Blixen House. We couldn’t have asked for a better place for us to recharge and begin to explore all that Kenya has to offer. It was the best place for us to begin our East African safari and would recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful, tranquil place with pristine grounds and impeccable service.

A Welcome Respite from Bustling Nairobi

This boutique hotel exudes charm and elegance. It was my husband's birthday and they made us feel special from the moment we walked in. Our bed was creativily decorated with an imaginative Happy Birthday message made out of towels, rose petals, and palm fronds. The beds are comfortable and the grounds are lush and green. We had a relatively brief stay but can't recommend this hotel enough for its comfort and high level of service.

Wonderful way to relax before beginning safari.

We stayed at the House of Waine for two nights prior to starting our 16 day safari in Kenya and Uganda, and one night just prior to our fligjt back to the States. Our flight landed late evening in Nairobi causing us to arrive at the House very late, but we were greeted by a very cheerful staff and was even offered dinner even though it was very late. The guest rooms were elegantly appointed, comfortable, and quiet. Although breakfast was included in the package, the House also serves lunch and dinner. The food was excellent and the service friendly and professional. The grounds were beautiful, peaceful and private. We would also recommend Langata Link Shops and Love Birds Community Shops for locally made souvenirs (roughly 2 miles from the House). All in all we had an excellent experience and would definitely choose House of Waine again.

A friendly introduction to East Africa

We stayed here for two nights before leaving on our safari adventure. This is a nice oasis outside Nairobi, but conveniently located to local attractions and restaurants. Each of the rooms is unique--large and comfortable. The grounds and pool are very nice. Service was incredibly friendly. Breakfast was included, and was very good quality. We ate out for lunch and dinner, and only later learned that we could have had those meals here as well. A wonderful property with very friendly and welcoming people.

Exceptional

The staff and grounds at this resort are amazing. The rooms are beyond exceptional. Mine had a fire place and a claw foot tub. Others had balconies. The gardens are peaceful and lush; full of different plants and color. Food was exceptional. One day I stayed at the hotel and for lunch, they served it in the garden. Highly recommend this hotel if you need a place to stay in Nairobi.
