Two rude abusive men working at desk
2.0Connecting w a ship to see Greenland. Stayed 1 night before ship and extended stay at hotel after the ship for 3 nights. Two men working at the hotel desk were extremely rude to me, a solo female. It was abuse . They only stopped threatening me w increased charges and telling me I was wrong, yelling,, when I raised my voice to fight back. Then, everyone in the lobby turned around and looked. They saw this treatment I was receiving. Only then did the two men back off and stop their attack. There was no extra charge. But, I was worried and concerned that I’d be harassed later during my 3 night stay- alone. But, luckily I didn’t see those two men again . In a nut shell the problem was that w the ship, which was one night at the hotel when the cruise was over, I was given a room( which happened to be right over the loud construction site, banging all day), I guess the hotel wanted to downgrade me to a cheaper room, but I didn’t know that. I had reservations to stay 3 additional nights. I was on my way to a hair appt when I found out they wanted me to change rooms immediately. If I didn’t they were going to charge me some ridiculous rate. I had to get to the hair appt, so I said I’d change rooms when I got back. They were very angry. I ended up changing rooms after the hair appt. This new room was just like the first room but now I wasn’t over the loud construction site. About $350 a night. I don’t know how much the first room cost that first night .
3 star hotel at a five star price
6.0An ordinary room, clean with everything working. Food and drink was okay, but very expensive, even for Iceland. This hotel is now the most expensive one I've ever stayed in. It was okay.
Very nice hotel and staff that is centrally located
10.0We arrived at the hotel shortly before noon after a transatlantic flight. There were plenty of staff at the desk to handle check ins and check outs. All of my information was correctly there from the prebooking and they had a room ready which they let us have although it was hours before the official check in time. The room and bed were spotlessly clean. The hotel is located only 3 blocks from the main shopping/tourist center. It is very walkable. We had the breakfast buffet (included with our room) and it was excellent. The couple that we were traveling with also had another meal in the restaurant at the hotel and they were pleased with the food and the service. I would happily stay at this location again if we return to this city.
A good place to stay
10.0Comfortable room. Well equipped. Lovely wooden floor. Bistro restaurant food was good.
Housekeeping needs to improve
8.0The hotel is well located, clean, functional and comfortable. Our standard room was very pleasant and we liked having a separate shower as well as a bath! Breakfast was excellent. We looked forward to it each morning. The reason I am not awarding five stars is that, on two occasions, our room was not cleaned, as requested. This was disappointing.
