Minha estadia no hotel, posso dizer que foi boa, mas algumas coisas tem que melhorar, internet, sinal de tv a cabo e a segurança dos quartos.

Overpriced with many issues.

First the good points - the hotel is situated right next to the Opera House in a touristy part of town, surrounded by half a dozen nice restaurants in the Square. This is important because many (most?) restaurants in Manaus seem to shut on both Sundays and Mondays, except those around the Square. The offices of a few tour agencies (Amazon trips, boat rides, etc) are also within 2 mins walk. Despite its age, the rooms and hotel have been refurbished, with flat-panel TV sets and modern bathrooms. This makes it look superficially nice, but once you get into the room, the problems begin. The big issue was lack of hot water. We stayed 4 nights, and had hot water for showers only on the first morning. When we complained to the desk clerk they just shrugged as if to say 'What do you expect me to do about it?' This problem still hadn't been fixed by the time we checked out. We spotted a number of cockroaches that ran out of and in to cracks in the walls and skirting boards. The breakfast was disappointing -a poor selection of juices and fried 'things' (no labels so we didn't know what most of them were), which didn't change from day to day. The staff would cook a fried egg for us - if we asked - but fried egg on stale toast got a bit 'samey' after a few days. The reception staff spoke little English but were all friendly, and seemed to be trying their best to accommodate us. It just seemed to us that this was a 1-star hotel trying to be a 3-star hotel.

Meio decepcionante

O hotel não tinha minha reserva registrada, mas conseguiu improvisar e nos acomodar. Achei as instalações antigas e o chuveiro do banheiro muito mal instalado, péssimo pra tomar banho. Café da manhã meio fraco.

Hotel bacana. Antigo. O café da manhã não tem muitas opções, mas atende perfeitamente. Funcionários muito simpáticos e localizado bem no centro da cidade.

Good to know

Parents or a legal guardian traveling with children under 18 years must present the child's birth certificate and an identity card with photo (passport, for example) at the check-in. For international travels to Brazil, if just one of the parents is traveling with the child, she/he must present – in addition to the child's certificate of birth and identity card with photo – a letter authorizing the trip signed by the other parent with a notarial certification of signature. In case the parents or the legal guardian, as applicable, cannot or are unwilling to give this authorization, a judicial authorization is required. People who intend to travel to Brazil with children must consult with the Brazilian consulate before traveling for more information.
