The staff were superb they made the place, I hope the owner appreciates them. The food was very good and quick service at a fair price.

The whole place needs a full refurb, the maintenance was very bad, for instance worn carpets, rotting windows. Very poor lighting to cover up the dust and decorations . The tap in our washbasin would not turn off what a waste of water. We were concerned about the state of the electrics if they also suffer from poor maintenance. The drinks were expensive to pay for the owners 3 cars 2x BMW sports cars with gullwing doors and 1 Jaguar how do you drive 3 at once?

Well below usual standards

We have always enjoyed our stays here as the rooms, the staff and especially the food are 1st class.

We booked for a Sunday night. I also booked a table in the restaurant for 8pm. We stood to be seated at 7.55 pm. The person who greeted us said you will have to eat in the bar as we are setting up for breakfast. After a discussion She left, came back 2mins later and said you can go in the restaurant. Looking around the majority of tables were set up as you would expect with wine glasses etc for food not breakfast. The waitress asked if we would like a drink and then announced that there was only haddock and chips or scampi and chips available. Not something that either of us would choose. We said I suppose it will have to be scampi. My wife asked if the chef had anything else available she left came back and said no. She asked if there was anything vegetarian she went into the kitchen and about 30 seconds after she left to see the chef our scampi and chips were put on the table. The other waitress never came back. We asked a few questions and were told that last orders were 7.45. and there was nothing left. When I booked the table there was no mention of this in fact WHY would they take the booking. They started clearing up around us while we were eating. When we got up the next morning there were only 5 tables set up for breakfast and this was in the area at the front of house near the door, where we have always had breakfast and Not affecting the main restaurant. When we came down to leave we told the manager everything and he was disgusted. After a long talk and apology he told us that he would not charge us for our stay. He knew that we booked through booking.com and said he would sort it. He told us to get in touch with him in about a week to see what was happening. I contacted them by email but havent had any reply or money back. Unfortunately this experience was very much below the standards that we have experienced from our many visits and is totally unacceptable.
