− Poor WiFi connectivity& frequent power cuts. Dirty carpets.

One of the worst hotel experiences. Stay away! I have never written a review like this but had to.

The staff are not to blame for what I'm writing here. They are all doing their best. In fact, they seemed a little frightened that I had any complaints at all, which makes me question how management treats them. I've now seen other reviews that suggest that this is coming from the top.

− Overall * One of the worst "4-star" hotel experiences I've had, despite extensive travel throughout West Africa. Booking & Check-in * Booked through Booking.com, but the listing was misleading. * Received repeated "no-show" and cancellation messages before arrival due to hotel errors. * On arrival, was told the hotel was full and offered a room in a satellite property instead. Room & Security * Had to change rooms multiple times because each had different issues. * Initial rooms were on the ground floor and felt unsafe. * Hotel security overall felt inadequate. * Bolt lock from inside did not work and no chain lock * No in-room safe despite repeated promises that one would be delivered. * Key card was repeatedly unavailable; waited over an hour while staff sat at the front desk despite saying they were bringing it. Room Condition * Rooms and bathrooms were poorly lit. * The pillows were all too thick so I used my travel pillow, took a pillowcase off and saw how filthy the actual pillow underneath was. * Missing basic amenities like soap. * Burnt-out light bulbs in one room. * TVs did not work in multiple rooms. * Frequent power outages throughout the stay. Amenities * No fitness center, despite the impression given when booking. * Rooftop restaurant also experienced frequent power outages. Service * Staff were very kind but some failed to follow through on basic requests. * Poor communication and lack of urgency throughout the stay. * Overall management appeared disorganized and unprofessional. * That said when I was checking out-- after 1 night of 3 that I paid for (!), all staff I dealt with were very kind. Especially Juliette. Final Thoughts * After reading other reviews, many guests reported similar problems, making the highly positive reviews seem questionable. * Left early for another hotel and hope to receive a refund for at least one night.
