Our stay at Villa Rothsay was genuinely memorable. If you’re tired of anonymous, sterile chain hotels and want somewhere with real character, this is a wonderful choice. The hotel is unique, full of charm and history, and set in one of the most beautiful locations on the Isle of Wight. It perfectly blends old-world grandeur with all the modern comforts and facilities you could need, making it both elegant and incredibly comfortable. The customer service was exceptional. Margaret was an amazing host, and the whole team went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Nothing was too much trouble, and the warmth and personal attention made our stay feel very special. Margaret is also an absolute oracle when it comes to the history of the Isle of Wight and its rich yachting heritage. We thoroughly enjoyed picking her brains about the fascinating memorabilia, antiques and historical treasures displayed throughout the hotel, each with its own story and connection to the island’s past. We especially appreciated the thoughtful layout of the family accommodation. The adjoining rooms were ideal for travelling with our 18-year-old son, giving us both privacy and the convenience of being connected. Villa Rothsay offers something increasingly rare—a hotel with genuine personality, outstanding hospitality, and a genuine sense of history that enriches every moment of the stay. It felt far more personal and memorable than any modern, sterile hotel could ever be. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a truly special experience.

The hostess—a warm and enthusiastic woman—makes your stay extra special with her genuine hospitality. Her attention to detail and personal touch ensure you feel right at home. The lady who prepares breakfast is also incredibly attentive, ensuring every meal is a delight. Our room was a dream—spacious, comfortable, and boasting a breathtaking sea view. The sound of the waves and the view of the horizon made it the perfect place to relax and unwind. In short, Villa Rothsay is not just a hotel, but an experience you won't want to miss.
