− The staff were friendly and helpful, but unfortunately they were not flexible with the check-in timing. I drove approximately 1,000 km from Sydney and started my journey at 4:00 a.m. Because my EV is only a few weeks old, I had to stop for charging along the way. At around 8:30 p.m., I was charging my vehicle in Mildura, and the battery was down to only 10%. I called the reception twice to let them know that I would be arriving a little later than expected and asked if a slightly delayed check-in could be arranged. Unfortunately, I was told that reception closes at 9:00 p.m. and that if I did not arrive before then, I would not be able to check in, despite my room already being fully paid for. As a result, I had to stop charging my EV before it was adequately charged and rush to the motel. I believe there should be an alternative after-hours check-in arrangement for genuine situations like this, especially for guests travelling long distances. Implementing such a process would cost very little but would greatly improve the customer experience. Or have to sleep in my car. Anyway, I managed to check in. Room 35 also had a few issues. The air conditioner was positioned directly above the head of the bed and made intermittent on-and-off noises throughout the night, making it difficult to sleep. I also tried several times to connect to the Wi-Fi, but it never worked. In addition, there was not even a complimentary bottle of drinking water provided in the room. Overall, the staff were courteous, but improving the flexibility of the check-in process and addressing the room amenities and maintenance issues would make for a much better guest experience. Very sorry to say that
