Oceanfront room

− Old AC unit, 1 elevator for entire hotel, showerhead on crooked and pointed towards wall.

Not bad for the price. Also when leaving and Turing in the keys the front desk was lecturing me about smoking and we don

It was directly on the beach.

− Only had one elevator for the whole building, and no air or breeze in the hallways. Had to wait sometimes up to 20-25 just to get on the elevator!

The view was great location was great

− They did have house keeping come in the rooms to change the sheet the bed was sandy from us going to the beach we had to ask for towels and toilet paper

Overall… decent. We were looking for an inexpensive getaway on the beach and we found Tropical Seas. The room was fine,

We had a great view from the balcony on the fourth floor, the beds were comfortable, and we found the kitchen very useful during our stay. I also appreciated that a broom and dustpan were left in the room so that we could regularly sweep the sand we dragged in.

− The biggest issue I had with the property was seeing one cockroach on the balcony three out of the four nights we stayed there. I did not report this b/c while I was unhappy seeing cockroaches, we did not have any in our room and it was minimal exposure. However, one afternoon we got a loud knock on our door from two men asking if we needed pesticide sprayed. My mom was alone in the room at the time and told them no. A heads up from management that we may get a visit for pest spray would’ve been appreciated. This also tells me that perhaps this is a rampant problem since strangers are knocking on doors asking to spray for pests. Never in my life have I experienced that. Additionally, I’d read reviews about issues with marijuana, and I can say for certain that the person on the room next to us was smoking it on the balcony early in the morning and in the evening. Perhaps cameras overlooking the balconies would help reduce the smoking issues and those that ignore the rule can be warned/penalized. We also saw people vaping/smoking at the pool. One day my mom was at the pool and saw a couple having sex on one of the balconies. Finally, I also noticed lack of security at doors with outside access. The side door we used to walk out to the public beach entrance was unlocked at all times so that anyone could use it. We did not need our keycards to get in. Also, the gate from the pool to the beach was a simple lift gate, and required no code to get in from the beachside. Anyone could’ve walked into the pool area to use it or into the building.

Room was clean no issues. Staff was friendly. I did not use anything like pool etc due to i had family staying at a different location and it was easier for me to spend time with them. Location was good.
