We booked into this hotel on 21st January. On first impression it was a lovely, quiet hotel with a fabulous pool and gardens. We thought we had found paradise. And there it ends. After a couple of days it was announced by a letter through our door that there would be a wedding ceremony on that night. No other prior warning had been given. It was a very loud and intrusive affair held in the main communal gardens, directly in front of the only restaurant. It turned out to be not too bad however. and the noise abated at 10pm. We were disappointed that we hadn’t been advised when we booked though. Today, also in the main communal gardens alongside the only swimming pool and near the beach sun bathing area, staff arrived to set up for a very large and loud party starting at 14.30. As I write, all we can hear is shouting into a microphone, screaming and thumping banging music, as loud as the ears can safely tolerate. We came back to our room to get away from the hideous music and noise, to find a notice in our room that had been left while we were at the pool. Again, no prior warning yesterday or when we first booked. The noise from this event is horrible and we have been advised that it will go on late into the night. We are stuck on our balcony as we can’t go back to the pool or beach such is the noise. We do not want to eat in the restaurant because of the noise and Long Hai has very few options to eat. Had we been advised of these events we would have booked elsewhere. So, if you are looking for a quiet retreat, as depicted on their website maybe think again. There is only one pool bar and one restaurant. The website and other booking sites list two. Not so. We are here for another few days and wonder what else is in store? We would not recommend this hotel to anyone. There appears to be a lack of care for holiday makers and a severe lack of communication.

Peaceful but past its prime

It’s a quiet, spacious, and peaceful resort next to the ocean. We were mainly impressed with the service and the quality of food at the restaurant. The grounds are quite lush, there are pickleball courts, and the beach access is convenient. Overall, though, the resort felt a bit out of its prime and neglected. The pool closing at 7pm is an example. But the much larger issue for us was the smell of mold in the cabana which irritated my partner’s allergies overnight and was even visible on the curtains in the shower. There is also a clear ant problem; ants would swarm the outdoor toilet and sink. These aren’t showstopping issues for us - it is a resort in a tropical climate, after all - and we would consider staying again, but likely not in the cabanas if we did.

A Tranquil Sanctuary by the Sea

This resort is a beautiful sanctuary. The stunning gardens create such a deep sense of peace that you can feel it sink into your body. The pool is beautiful, and the beach is perfect for a relaxing swim. The food was excellent, and the hot bamboo massage was an absolute highlight — leaving me feeling completely relaxed and almost floating afterward. A wonderful place to unwind, and we’re already looking forward to returning.

The weekend

I stayed at the Fleur de Lys Hotel for the weekend, and it was a wonderful experience. The rooms are clean and cozy, the bed is soft, and the linens are white and clean. The grounds are large and well-maintained, with lots of flowers and greenery. There's a large pool and a restaurant with excellent service and delicious food. The grounds also offer access to a clean beach with a gorgeous sea view. Special thanks to the staff, especially Anh Thu, who was very attentive and friendly, and made sure my vacation was wonderful! After checkout, they gave me some special souvenirs, which was very nice and thoughtful! Thank you, I'll definitely be back and recommend you to my friends!
